Recipe for Butternut Squash Chili
I didn’t come up with this idea, but I did tweek it to fit my families likes! Please feel free to do the same!
Put all the ingredients in a slow cooker on low for 6-8 hours!
Butternut Squash – (hints: cook for 5 min in microwave. Then you can peel it OR I just cut it in slices and then cut the skin off and cut it into cubes)
Garlic (or garlic powder)
Tomato paste 8 oz
Fire roasted diced tomatoes
Red or green pepper
Jalapeno pepper (I don’t put the seeds in!)
Can of Chicken broth
shredded carrots (optional)
Ground beef (or you can use turkey or none at all!) I did brown the meat first, drain the grease and dab it with a paper towel before putting it in the slow cooker
**Also I use Slow Cooker liners in my crock pot for easy clean up! They’re awesome!
