Is Salad Really Healthy
Usually the first thing people do when they want to lose weight, is they start by eating healthy. One of the first things they change is they start to eat salads. A lot of salads. There’s nothing wrong with that, in fact, salads are an easy way to eat very “clean” and help with your weight loss. It’s the toppings and salad dressings that sometimes get you in trouble.
Here are some toppings that I LOVE on my salads, that are “clean” options so I wanted to share them with you that helped me “clean” up my salads and helped me keep calories low and weight off. This is also a simple, easy, quick meal idea that you could do for lunch or dinner.
Now I don’t recommend using them all at once, that might not taste the best, but give some of them a try!
I get the Spring mix salad and here are my toppings:
red pepper
green pepper
avocado
shredded carrots
cherry tomatoes
cucumber
black beans
kidney beans
brown rice – don’t knock it until you try it, it was good.
strawberries
pears
apples
peas
grilled chicken
grilled fish
cottage cheese (not a “clean” option, but good for protein)
pine nuts
almonds
